What’s in My Handbag?

Hello, everybody!

I’ve been wanting to do this post for a long time now, but always seem to empty out my purse before I remember I wanted to. My purse is my life. I carry what feels like a hundred things inside of it, and would be lost without every single thing in there. While that might be an exaggeration, I can’t help but feel I’ll need it as soon as I don’t have it.

IMG_6825The purse I’ve been using for over a year now is my Kate Spade satchel in white. It’s probably the smallest purse I’ve owned in the last six years. I love the giant Marry Poppins bags. They fit everything. People would joke I could pull out just about anything. Ninety percent of the time, I could. My current bag was a birthday gift from Duckie. I adore it. It’s the perfect size to fit all my crap, which makes the hoarder in me gleeful. My wallet is also a Kate Spade. It was also a gift from Duckie. He does spoil me so much.IMG_6827.JPGMy wallet is probably the messiest it’s ever been. I always shove all my receipts in this thing, and they sit in the for months and months. Then I check them in the waste bin when I get tired of shuffling them out of the way. Other than that and my debit and credit cards (not pictures, for obvious reasons), I have all my reward cards.

  • Florida Driver’s License. Unlike ninety percent of people, I love my licence picture. The DMV worker who took it was super nice and made sure I loved it before I left. Thanks, awesome DMV guy!
  • University of South Florida Student ID. I might have graduated over two years ago, but it has no expiration date on it. I’ll take advantage of my student discount until I die.
  • Sephora Beauty Insider Card
  • Fab (Friends and Benefits) bareMineral Card
  • Carmike Cinemas’ Rewards Card
  • The Cobb Moviegoers Club Card
  • Panera Bread My Panera Rewards Card

Most of my other reward or store cards are on my key chain.

IMG_6833I don’t keep much make up in my wallet. I always throw in my lipsticks, which seems to stay in there forever. The Too Faced La Créme in Sugar Daddy (aka Nude Pose) and Burt’s Bees Lipstick in Blush Basin seem to stay in the no matter what. Then I have my ChapStick Total Hydration 3 in 1 in Sweet Peach. I’m surprised I haven’t lost it yet, but give it time. Give it time.

But I do have my bareMinerals Bare Skin Perfecting Veil in light to medium in my purse. This pour setting powder has seen better days. It’s almost empty, as you can tell. I also dropped it on morning while trying to do my makeup and snapped the mirror off. I always bought a new one, which I’m using in my morning makeup routine. This one got thrown into my bag because I was tried of my oily skin IMG_6837Above is my notebook, planner, and a pencil. They keep me organized. I don’t always carry these books in my purse, but I do try to at least notebook with me. They do cause me purse to be super heavy and take up a load of space. But it never fails. I don’t carry them, and I feel I need them. The calendar is from was from last week (which wasn’t even filled out properly. I’m a slacker), and the notebook is open to a post I’m working on. Maybe one day I’ll do a whole post on my blogging process, but I’m not sure if anyone would be interest. If you would be, let me know!IMG_6831

The other odds and ends include:

  • My iPhone Apple headphones
  • Bath & Body Works Beautiful Day Hand Cream
  • My glasses case
  • A small hairbrush
  • A Tide To Go stain remover
  • A small Excedrin Migraine bottle filled with various pain pills
  • Bath & Body Works Hand Sanitizer
  • My sunglasses
  • My car keys and various
  • Ice Breaker Mints in Winter Green

Yes. I carry a lot of crap. I warned you!

10 Ways to Cope with Depression

After going through my blog recently, I realized I’ve barely talked about my depression or mental health in general. This kind of shocked me. Mental health was one of the main reasons I started blogging. I wanted to bring awareness to it. I wanted people to know that it’s okay. Life will get better, and you’re not alone.

While I chose to move away from the mental health niche, I want to get back to my roots in a small way. I want to start talking about it openly and honestly again. Now that I’m in a good place, I want others to know they can get here too. That depression isn’t the end. It’s just the beginning of something different.

If you’re suffering from depression or just feeling a bit down cast, here are a few tips on to feel better. Continue reading “10 Ways to Cope with Depression”

50 Facts About Me

Welcome to August, my beautiful internet friends!

As I’ve said before, August marks a tremendous mile stone for me. Three months blogging might not sound like a lot to some veterans, but to me, it’s crazy talk. I’ve tried this wild ride twice before and never got this far. Not even past the one month mark. Even more, I’ve never gotten such an amazing response and follower base before. It makes it all worth while when I see your comments and likes. Truly.

Sadly, I realized that I haven’t shared that much about myself. In honor of three months down, I wanted to share fifty facts about myself. Continue reading “50 Facts About Me”

Motivation Monday: Don’t be Afraid of Blank Pages

All things considered, I think ever single writer and creator does stunning and beautiful work. Think about it. Everything we write or create, it starts out as a blank slate. It’s nothing but white space begging to be filled. Always be proud of your accomplishments. Even if it’s something small or short. You came up with that. You created that. It wouldn’t be there without your efforts. And keep creating. Never give up your creative mind. Continue reading “Motivation Monday: Don’t be Afraid of Blank Pages”
